This video for Banff Vacation Travel Guide is one of our older productions, but we wanted to share it with you to get some feedback on how these older clips compare to the more recent travel guides we’ve shot. Below are some links to those recent videos. Feel free to compare with this clip and comment below to let us know which ones you prefer, and what else you’d love to see from Expedia on YouTube! St. Petersburg 🤍 Kyoto: 🤍 Banff, located in Banff National Park in the Canadian Rockies, is one part resort town and one part breathtaking natural retreat. Life is a little different at over 4,600 feet in elevation—by the way, that makes Banff Canada’s highest town. During your Banff sightseeing, you’ll learn that the town’s residents and visitors are a lively bunch, and you’ll find the local businesses are perfect for this festive crowd. Choose from over 100 restaurants to dine at, or stop by one or two of the dozens of pubs and cafes for an inexpensive snack and drink after walking through the many boutiques. You can also enjoy a marvelous time after the sun goes down; try dancing the night away at the Dancing Sasquatch, or visiting one of Banff’s other nightclubs. Banff National Park is known for its wildlife, some of which frequents Banff itself. You’ll often spot deer at the outskirts of town, some of which are friendly and curious about people. Once you say hello to the deer, make the drive to nearby Johnston Canyon, where you can take in snow-capped alpine scenery straight out of a fairy tale. Warm up after all this time spent outside: head to the Banff Upper Hot Springs. This exquisite spa has treated visitors to hot water and stunning views of the Rockies for over a century, and will continue to do so for a century to come. What will you do on your Banff tour? In the Canadian Rocky Mountains, we visit the Icefields Parkway in Banff National Park - one of the most scenic highways in the world. From iconic Lake Louise and Moraine Lake on the parkway’s doorstep, we travel north to the Columbia Icefields, following jagged mountains, numerous waterfalls, more glaciers than you can count, and vast sweeping valleys, featuring the most amazing panoramic viewpoints. We showcase many sights along the way including: Herbert Lake, Bow Lake, Peyto Lake, Waterfowl Lakes, Mistaya Canyon, Howse Pass Viewpoint, Weeping Wall Viewpoint, The Big Bend viewpoint, and Parker Ridge Trailhead which leads to a fabulous view of Saskatchewan Glacier. This is part 1 of my Icefields Parkway videos. I will follow-up with a video of the Parkway through Jasper National Park. I you are planning your own trip up the Icefields Parkway, you can use this video and my next one to help plan the sights you want to see. St. Petersburg 🤍 Kyoto: 🤍 When you imagine the Canadian Rockies, Banff National Park is likely the image that comes to mind. While a beautiful location for hiking and relaxation during the summer, this 2,500 square mile alpine mountain sanctuary comes alive during the winter. Snowy forests, glacier-carved lakes, and icefields set the scene in this, Canada’s first national park. Your Banff National Park tour begins in Banff itself, a resort town with a casual atmosphere, loaded with bars and restaurants, and continues into the park’s vast outdoor space, which is often utilized for winter activities. Whether you’re an experienced skier or are new to the sport, you’ll find thousands of acres of slopes to carve up. Take lessons in town or at one of the resorts dotting the mountains, or, if you’re not sure about skiing, try snowshoeing and hiking through the pristine wilderness. Embark on the Johnston Canyon Ice Walk for one of the most astonishing views of nature you’ll ever see…or book a sleigh ride or dog sledding ride for an adventure straight out of a storybook. See the best attractions and secret locations in Banff that are mostly mostly easy to access including an abandoned steam train, waterfalls and amazing viewpoints. Many of these locations most visitors don't know about and are often not crowded. I'm a photographer who has visited Banff for over 30 years and used to be a resident. so most of these locations are also very popular places for getting great shots. The map of locations. 🤍 Wheelchair and mobility issues information for each spot shown in this video: Moraine Lake – People with mobility issues including wheelchairs will enjoy a quality visit. The rockpile path will be too difficult for some. Lake Louise – Most spots here are easily accessible except when ice and snow in pathways. Lake Agnes – This is a moderate hike and folks with mobility issues may not be able to make this trip. No Wheelchair access. Bow Valley Parkway – There are numerous pullouts that folks with mobility issues will enjoy a quality visit. Johnson Canyon – The lower falls are an easy walk but not wheelchair accessible. Upper falls is more difficult. Castle Mountain Lookout – No wheelchair access and some people may find the rocks difficult to walk on. Bow Lake – Most people should be able to enjoy this spot. If wet out, wheelchair access from the highway lookout should be used instead. Peyto Lake – There is a special parking lot for Handicap which makes access to the lookout point easy for everyone. But it may have snow or ice here when nearby locations don’t. Mistaya Canyon – There is no wheelchair access and the short hike does have a somewhat steep incline when returning. Takakkaw Falls – Easy for everyone Natural Bridge – Easy for everyone Emerald Lake – Most areas are easy to access for everyone. Steam Trail – No wheelchair access and at times rather steep incline. Marble Canyon – There is no wheelchair access, and most people can easily make the lower area without a problem. Beyond this there is a steady incline that most people can handle. Paint Pots – No wheelchair access and most people should have no problem getting here but if you have mobility issues, consider hiking from the Paint Pots parking lot. When wet or after heavy rain, this place is not a fun walk. Grotto Canyon – No wheelchair access and only people who have a hard time walking on large rocks will find this difficult. Jura Canyon – This place is difficult for people with mobility issues. Hart Creek Bunker – No wheelchair access and this is mostly an easy trial. But once inside Bunker, there are large rocks and it’s pitch dark. Grassi Lakes - No wheel chair access and because it is 2kms with a steady incline to reach this spot, some people with mobility issues may find it difficult. Mount Lorette Ponds / Porcupine Creek – Easy access for everyone with a really nice, paved trial around the pond. Wedge Pond – No wheelchair access but otherwise pretty easy for most people. Johnson Lake – Wheelchair access and some access. Most trails around lake are simple. Cascade Pond - Wheelchair access and some access. Most trails around lake are simple. Two Jack Lake – There is some wheelchair access. Easy place to access. Lake Minnewanka Pullout – Wheelchair view from the road, access to water level might be difficult for people with mobility issues. Bankhead – No wheelchair access and while this is mostly easy to walk around, the short stairs in and out of the valley could be hard for some people. And lots of hazards are present when you off trail. Tunnel Mountain – Most viewpoints are wheelchair assessable and easy for most people. Surprise corner can be dangerous when there is lots of traffic. Mount Norquay – Wheelchair access and the viewpoint area is simple. Banff Gondola – The parking lot, the Gondola and the 4 story visitor center on the mountain are all wheelchair accessible. The path to the cosmic ray station is not. Everyone can enjoy a quality visit here. Vermillion Lakes Road – All of the pullouts are easy and wheelchair accessible. There can be issues getting a parking spot at busy times. But the traffic turns over quickly so a spot will show up in no time.

Sometimes it’s about navigating big, life-altering decisions. Sometimes it’s about navigating the seemingly lawless free-for-all that is driving in Hanoi. It’s moments of triumph and moments of panic. The good, the bad, the ugly – and most importantly, the real and real funny. We’re not here to tell you “how it’s done.” Just how we’ve done it. And that whatever it is that’s calling you - the way you’ll do it is much more attainable than it may seem. We believe the world’s a more interesting place when people reject convention in favor of what they actually care about. This is us putting that idea to the test – one budget spreadsheet, RV renovation and mountain-peak drone video at a time.
