Typically Holter monitors are purchased by hospitals and cardiologists. Individuals can buy Holter monitors as well, however, this is not very common as they are quite expensive. Even though purchasing your own Holter monitor is investing in your health, it can be much more cost-effective to rent one from a hospital.Sep 23, 2019
Holter recordings correctly identified OSA in 11 patients (r ¼ 0.74 with polysomnography; P ¼ 0.0002). Holter showed 78.5% sensitivity, 83.3% specificity, 91.6% positive predictive value, and 62.5% negative predictive value (with polysomnography as the gold standard).Oct 29, 2008
You will be able to carry out your normal daily activities BUT you must not get the monitor wet, nor use an electric blanket or magnetic underlay.
