The Boards & Beyond video series is similar to Pathoma, but it covers all of the topics in First Aid, so I would follow in First Aid when I watched the videos. I started watching those videos in January to get better at topics I knew I was bad at (biochemistry, microbiology).
The videos, in our opinion, are geared much more towards USMLE Step 1 and pre-clinical learning than any higher USMLE steps or other coursework. A lot of the videos are also very short and manageable, so Osmosis is a great resource to use as a supplement to a student's classroom learning.
There is no need to even possess First Aid any time before the beginning of M2 year. At the same time, you don't want to be looking at it for the first time just 6 weeks before your test. A good happy medium is halfway through second year, or when you have 5 or 6 months before the exam.Jan 2, 2019

Pathoma Vs Boards And Beyond: Reddit's Response Most people on Reddit agree that Pathoma is the more important resource when it comes to USMLE preparation. B&B has a lot of fans too however, but most suggest it's a more suitable tool for year round study or for a good first pass of the material.
In addition to the qbank, USMLE-Rx offers video modules as an extra cost add-on for supplementing the qbank with relevant content. In contrast, Boards and Beyond is recognized for its database of 440+ videos for Step 1 content. Shawn found that the USMLE-Rx qbank was a helpful supplement to questions from UWorld.
If you do plan to use Boards and Beyond, just keep in mind it's 118 hours (1x) of videos and sometimes he jumps around in his systems for example, a cardio video may be talking about a drug found in a different chapter in FA. I personally watch the videos once and then annotate at my own speed into FA.Feb 10, 2018
All of this makes questions – and the topics they cover – stick in our minds. This means wrong answers in the weeks before Step 1 more easily become knowledge at your fingertips during the exam. When you are acing 95% of practice questions, you won't retain as much information.
